You can use your personal computer in light mode or dark mode. If you like to use your personal computer in dark mode, there is also a dark mode option in Windows 11 as in Windows 10. Switching your computer from light mode to dark mode is very simple. Here’s how you do it.
Here is how to change to the dark mode
Right-click on your wallpaper on Windows 11 desktop, then click “Personalization. Scroll down and click “Colors.” The first option on this screen Is “Choose your mode.” This is what you’re looking for, more or less. You’ve got three options:
- Light: Most backgrounds and visual elements will be white or light grey
- Dark: most backgrounds and visual elements will be shades of dark grey
- Custom: choose between Light and Dark modes for both Windows settings menus and apps
You can also use light mode and dark mode together if you want. For example, you can make the Windows taskbar and Start menu light, and apps dark. All Windows applications support light and dark modes. So, you can change it as you like without any problems.
You can customize your PC’s theme even more by choosing an accent color. This is the color (and related colors) that will appear on Windows elements that require contrast to be easily visible. For example, the notification icon in the bottom-right corner of the taskbar, or the selected buttons on the Action Bar.
By default, Windows 11 will choose an accent color based on the colors of your desktop wallpaper. If you’re not happy with the automatic choice depending on your desktop wallpaper, you can select “Manual” from the drop-down bar on the right.
When you scroll down, click “View colors” to choose from an RGB palette with plenty of color options. Please remember, these changes are cosmetic only. They do not affect the performance of your computer. With these options, you can use your Windows 11 in light mode, dark mode, or both. Also, don’t forget that you have a lot of color options when customizing your PC.
